Twilio — SMS rent reminders

Connect your Twilio account so rent reminders go by SMS as well as email.

What this does

When the rent reminder cron fires (3 days before each due date), every tenant who has a phone number on file gets an SMS like:

> Rent reminder: £1,850 due on 01 Jun 2026. Pay via your tenant portal.

The in-app notification + email still fire too — SMS is an additional channel. Tenants without a phone number are silently skipped.

Setup (5 minutes)

1. Sign up at Twilio if you don't already have an account. 2. Buy a UK mobile number in the Twilio console (£1/month). 3. From the Twilio Console dashboard, copy your Account SID and Auth Token. 4. In Estate-HQ open Settings → Integrations → Twilio SMS. 5. Paste in: - Account SID (starts with AC…) - Auth Token - From number — the UK number you bought, in international format like +447700900123 6. Click Connect. 7. Click Test connection — we hit the Twilio Accounts endpoint to confirm the keys work.

Costs

You pay Twilio directly for SMS — typically 3–4 p per UK SMS. We don't add any markup or take a cut. Twilio bills your card monthly.

Disconnecting

Click Disconnect. Twilio credentials wiped. Rent reminders revert to email-only.
